A duo of former first-rounders among 24 on the waiver wire for Sunday, September 29th.
Saturday was quite the busy day on the National Hockey League's waiver wire, which featured former first-round pick Grigori Denisenko and Robert Hagg, who has 343 games of experience with the Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks.
In total, 23 players were placed on the wire yesterday, as teams continue to narrow down their rosters in training camp in preparation for opening night in just over a week. All 23 from yesterday have cleared waivers, Sportsnet's Elliotte Freidman confirmed on X.
On Sunday afternoon, PuckPedia shared that 24 have been placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to their respective American Hockey League affiliates.
We'll have to wait and see how many of these players on waivers today clear and will be assigned to the American Hockey League. From now until November 1st, the San Jose Sharks have the first crack at placing a waiver claim as they finished last in the NHL in 2023-24. Following San Jose on the waiver claim list are Chicago, Anaheim, Columbus and Montreal in the first five.
