59 players have landed on the waiver wire for Sunday, October 6th, with nearly 24 hours to go until the National Hockey League's opening night roster submission deadline.
Tomorrow, teams around the National Hockey League will need to submit their respective rosters for opening night and in order to assign some of those players to the minors, they need to go through waivers.
According to PuckPedia, on Sunday afternoon, a total of 59 players were placed on the waiver wire for the purpose of being assigned to the American Hockey League. Among those on the wire today include Matt Murray of the Toronto Maple Leafs, along with several former first-round picks such as Jakob Pelletier of the Calgary Flames.
For Sunday's crop of players on waivers, we'll have to wait until Monday at 2 pm ET to see if anyone is claimed or if they'll be assigned to the American Hockey League. The San Jose Sharks get the first crack at making a waiver claim as they finished last in the NHL in the 2023-24 season. They'll have first dibs on waiver claims until November 1st.
