A former junior hockey player has tragically passed away, he played his junior hockey for the Napanee Raiders of the PJHL
It's been a tough few weeks around the hockey world, and it won't get easier, Troy Wylie a former junior hockey player has passed away at the age of 31 his former team announced in a press release.
According to the Napanee Raiders of the PJHL, Wylie passed away yesterday morning the team said in a statement.
Our Organization is devastated this morning by the news of the tragic passing of Troy Wylie at the age of 31. Troy played for the Raiders from 2011-12 to 2014-15 and served as an alternate captain many of those years. The Kingston native could capably play forward - where he was seldom lost a battle along the boards - and defense, where he could be counted on for making simple, smart zone exits.
He was incredibly dedicated through goods times and bad. He was remembered by those who played with him and coached him as a great teammate, a hard worker, and a kind, respectful person away from the rink who loved his family and friends. We extend our condolences to Troy's fiance Chelsea, his parents Pete and Tammy, their family, and the many whose lives were better for having known him.
By all accounts, Wylie was known as a standup person a great hockey player and will be dearly missed by those closest to him and those in his community as well.
Last season, Wylie had gotten back into hockey playing for the Deseronto bulldogs, a senior AAA team of the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League.
We would like to wish his family, friends, and anyone else affected by his passing our sincere condolences.
