Canadian fans everywhere are furious, and with good reason, as Sportsnet has suddenly unveiled considerable new price hikes for the upcoming year.

Fans across Canada who utilize the Sportsnet streaming service got a recent rotten surprise when they were informed that the prices would be going up for the subscription-only service.
The overall price was hiked by an average of $75 per year, which a Sportsnet spokesperson explained in an email was because of the "great value" they provide while also staying current with other market price options.
«Sportsnet+ is the most comprehensive live sports streaming experience in Canada. This update reflects that great value for sports fans looking for the best sports content in the country, while remaining competitively priced with other options in the market.

An outraged fan named Austin posted a screenshot of his billing message from Sportsnet, informing him that his price would be hiked from $34.99 a month to $42.99 per month, and he had a harsh response.
Hey @Sportsnet @Rogers if you ever wanted to know why people stream sports illegally, raising your prices on a service that barely functions and is barely stable at 720p in 2025 might be something to think about. What an absolute joke. I'll be sailing the high seas this season ✌️
Multiple Sportsnet users posted openly hostile responses to the company, noting their slow streaming and poor quality that in no way justifies the price hikes.
Lmao, what has SN+ done to justify an $80 increase? It's a full minute behind the broadcast and genuinely one of the leafiest piece of s**t services I've ever used. Give your heads a shake @Sportsnet
Apparently, one frustrated user wasn't even able to cancel his service:
Sportsnet is merely trying to scam people by raising the price so much without making any major advancements during a time when people are already overburdened. The criticism is justified, and they will need to lower the price if they wish to repair their reputation.
