KHL coach Andrey Martemyanov, who most recently was in charge of the club Amur Khabarovsk, has passed away at the age of 61 following a reported stroke.
A statement released by the club reads as follows:
His name will forever remain in the history of our club, and the years of his work in the team will be remembered as a period of bright victories and unforgettable emotions.
Born 30 March 1963 in Yekaterinburg, Martemyanov enjoyed an extensive playing career for the former Soviet Union while earning several gold medals.
Later, he would delve into the world of coaching with several clubs in the KHL.
