The tragic passing of a 12-year-old hockey player has brought the hockey community together to mourn and to remember a vibrant and spirited player
Just two days after the unexpected death of a 29-year-old hockey player comes word of the passing of a much younger one.
Lively, spirited, and gifted. That's how 12-year-old hockey player Natalia Moore is being remembered.
The hockey community has come together to mourn the loss of Natalia Moore, whose life ended far too early.
One of her former teams, the Wyandotte Warriors of Michigan, put out a heartfelt tribute to Moore, and asked fans all over to put out sticks on their front porches in her memory.
Moore's obituary went deeper into the impact she had on and off the ice.
"Beyond her skills as a player, Natalia stood out for her exceptional character. She was a great teammate, always offering words of encouragement and a supportive hand to those who needed it. Whether it was celebrating a victory or rallying her friends after a tough game, Natalia's kindness and team spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her smile and infectious energy brought people together, fostering camaraderie and friendship among her peers."
A balloon release in Moore's honour is planned for January 30.
The details surrounding Moore's death are tragic, and becoming all too familiar in today's world.
Our sincere condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Natalia Moore at this very difficult time.
