It's been apparent this season, that the Edmonton Oilers rely on 3 players to make the rest of their team go, and it seems as if the Oilers are ready to give Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard massive raises on their next deals, investing a huge chunk of the Salary cap into those players.
According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Oilers are preparing to give the cornerstones of their franchise max extensions on their next contracts.
Seravalli says Oilers have begun contract talks with Draisaitl, McDavid is committed to staying in Edmonton #LetsGoOilers
Seravalli mentions that combined the three players could make over 40 million dollars. The projection is that Mcdavid will earn a staggering 16M AAV on his next deal while Draisaitl will earn 14M person season and Bouchard will earn 10M. Seravalli also mentions that he expects the Salary Cap to go up around 100M 2 seasons from now, which would give the Oilers the flexibility to be able to sign their stars to these massive deals when the time comes.
