The mystery surrounding the absence of William Nylander has caught Everyone by surprise. Nylander played in game 82 and appeared healthy at the conclusion of the game. However, Nylander has not suited up for the Leafs in either of their two games during the series against the Boston Bruins.
Multiple reports have surfaced around the superstar's absence with some reports stating this was a punishment levied by the team. Other reports have stated that Nylander is currently battling a back injury. Now. Another more convincing report has surfaced from Nick Alberga who has revealed Nylander has been battling a concussion.
As I mentioned on Leafs Morning Take a few moments ago, it is believed that William Nylander is dealing with a head injury.
Unlike previous reports a head, injury truly makes a lot more sense. Nylander was kept off the ice for the mandatory 48 hours and has slowly increased his workload since. It appears the Maple Leafs are slowly working. The Superstar back into action according to the NHL's concussion protocol.
Reports have indicated that if Nylander continues the rest of the day symptom free, he could play as early as tonight. A more likely timeline however could be the Leafs next game on Saturday.
