Jonathan Toews Reportedly Deciding Between Two Teams As NHL Return Draws Near
Jonathan Toews' return is going to be a huge story in the NHL moving forward, and now, he's reportedly narrowed down his list of potential teams to just two as two Central Division teams are set to fight it out for his signature.
The 2025 NHL off-season is set to be a wild one, and with the Stanley Cup Playoffs to end in just a matter of days, the chaos is almost upon us, with trades, offer sheets, free agency signings and the draft all set to dominate the NHL world.
While everyone's eyes are on Mitch Marner, Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand among other top names, former Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is set for an NHL return, with his agent confirming that he's motivated to play more than just one more year in the league.
In recent times, his list of potential suitors has narrowed, and according to Insider Chris Johnston, it's now all the way down to just two teams, with the hometown Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche the two remaining.
"Winnipeg & Colorado are the most likely potential landing spots for him."
Both of these Central Division teams fell to the Dallas Stars in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, and with glaring holes on their second line down the middle, it makes perfect sense for both parties as he fills a role and gets to join a team with Stanley Cup ambitions in 2025/26.
There's a chance that a wild card comes out of nowhere to offer a huge deal to the 37-year old forward, but as of right now, it's down to the two Central Division teams, with his signing potentially having a huge impact on the NHL next season as things are set to change in a big way.
