With the matchups for the opening round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs officially confirmed, the dates and times of a pair of matchups have been set.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are right around the corner, and every opening round matchup has officially been set.
Not only is this shaping up to potentially be one of the most exciting postseasons in recent memory, but a handful of clubs that have not played beyond the 82nd game of the year have officially punched their ticket to the playoffs this time around.
And now, a pair of key Western Conference matchups that have been confirmed have revealed their starting date and times for the opening clashes.
The President's Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets, who will take on
the St. Louis Blues in Round 1, will play the opening game of that series on Saturday at Canada Life Centre at 6:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
Additionally, the Dallas Stars will clash against the Colorado Avalanche in Game 1 of their series on Saturday night from American Airlines Arena in downtown Dallas, starting at 8:30 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
The Blues and Jets are facing one another in the playoffs for the 1st time since 2019, a series that St. Louis won en route to the franchise's 1st Stanley Cup in their history.
As for the Stars and the Avalanche, this marks their 2nd straight meeting in the postseason; the Stars emerged victorious over the Avalanche last season in 6 games; they also knocked out the Avalanche in the 2020 postseason in 7 games.
The full schedule complete with Game 1 start times is expected to be released by the NHL soon.
