Marc-Andre Fleury confirms retirement
Marc-Andre Fleury has confirmed when he will retire from the NHL in an interview with a French outlet. Will we see the the future hall of famer again?
Marc-Andre Fleury has had a hall of fame career, that much has been abundantly clear for a few years now, but that career will be coming to a close at the end of the 2024-25 National Hockey League season.
Fleury confirmed the news in an interview with TVA Sports. This was also confirmed later by his agent Allan Walsh.
Future Hall of Fame goalie Marc-Andre Fleury confirmed today what he said at his end of year media availability, the next season will be his last. 🌸
Fleury, 39, has proven that he still has game left in him, even though his stats don't always reflect it. He appeared in 40 games with the Minnesota Wild last season compiling a record of 17-15- with 2 shutouts, a 2.98 goals against average and a .895 save percentage.
There you have it, while I think most of the hockey world thought last season might be his last, Marc-Andre Fleury has one more season left in him. Something we should all savour, for one of the all time greats in the NHL.
