There's been a lot of discourse whether the Sam Bennett hit on Brad Marchand was intentional or not. After all, It did knock Marchand out of game three and made it so he wasn't in the lineup for game four. A new angle has revealed that things aren't what they originally appeared
According to Puck Reporter on X a new angle of the hit has revealed that Bennett absolutely did mean to punch bride Marchand in the side of the face, resulting in his removal from the game; take a look.
This angle tells a whole different story 😬 #NHLBruins #TimeToHunt
As you can see, this angle shows that Bennett did in fact extend his fist and make contact intentionally with Marchand's face. It also wouldn't be the first time Bennett has done something like this either knocking Matthew Knies out of the series last year with a similar looking play.
At this point, you have to commend Bennett for being able to get away with plays like this, but you would think that the NHL and their play safety department would start to look at something.
The fact that Player Safety didn't even glance at this or make a statement on why it wasn't a suspension is something else. As we've seen though Parros doesn't exactly know what the right thing to do is most of the time.
