Hockey fans everywhere are rejoicing after the National Hockey League didn't include controversial referee Chris Lee to work games in the postseason.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs officially begin tonight, as the St. Louis Blues will take on the Presidents' Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets while Mikko Rantanen and the Dallas Stars face his former club, the Colorado Avalanche.
But as these two clashes are set to get underway tonight, NHL fans everywhere are rejoicing over the fact that the League has declined to include controversial referee Chris Lee as part of the staff to work the postseason.
Jake Brenk, Francis Charron, Gord Dwyer, Eric Furlatt, Trevor Hanson, Jean Hebert, Frederick L'Ecuyer, Pierre Lambert, T.J. Luxmore, Peter MacDougall, Wes McCauley, Jon McIsaac, Kendrick Nicholson, Dan O'Rourke, Brian Pochmara, Garrett Rank, Kyle Rehman, Chris Rooney, Graham Skilliter, Francois St. Laurent, Furman South, and Kelly Sutherland.
In addition to Lee, the NHL also declined to include Tom Chmielewski and Steve Kozari on the list of postseason referees.
The decision was met with overwhelming approval from fans on X, many of whom said that Lee shouldn't be allowed to continue referring in the NHL.
