Noah Hanifin and the Vegas Golden Knights have agreed to a new contract that keeps Hanifin with the team for the next eight years. It's worth close to $60 million.
After picking up defenceman Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames at the trade deadline for Daniil Miromanov, a first-round draft pick, and a conditional third-round draft pick, GM Kelly McCrimmon wasted no time in signing the 27 year old to a deal worth $7.35 million per season for the next eight years.
"Hanifin is essentially a 9-years-younger upgrade over UFA Alec Martinez. I like the fit. Interested what ripples there are for the rest of the roster this summer.
Interested in what Tampa does now with its D.
This was already a slam-dunk trade win for VGK. Even more so now." Hanifin has played in 16 games with Vegas since being acquired on March 6, and has 2 goals and 9 points during that span. Hanifin is currently in his ninth season in the League and has collected 283 points (62 G, 221 A) in 675 games.
