One Of Baseball's Greatest Legends Has Sadly Passed Away At The Age Of 90
It was a sad day in the baseball world, as one of the game's greatest legends sadly passed away at the age of 90, sending everyone into mourning.
The MLB's Milwaukee Brewers were sad to announce this morning that one of their beloved former catchers, iconic broadcasters, and franchise legends died last night at 90.
Legend Bob Uecker passes away at 90
The Brewers released a very touching lengthy statement regarding this tragic death.
Today we take on the heaviest of burdens. Today, we say goodbye to our beloved friend, Bob Uecker.
Ueck was the light of the Brewers, the soundtrack of our summers, the laughter in our hearts, and his passing is a profound loss. He was the heart and soul of Wisconsin and a dear friend. Bob loved people; his presence warmed every room and he had a way of welcoming all of us into his world as if we were lifelong friends.
Saying goodbye to Bob shakes us all. He was so much more than a Milwaukee Brewers icon. He was a national treasure. Bob entertained us with his words and storytelling, so it is no surprise that his passing now leaves us at a loss for our own words.
There is no describing the impact Ueck had on so many, and no words for how much he was loved. We are left with a giant void in our hearts, but also remember the laughter and joy he brought to our lives.

His death represents a tremendous loss to every baseball fan. During a 54-year-long career, the voice of Uecker became synonymous with Brewers baseball, even though the charm and humor he possessed reached far beyond the city of Milwaukee.
Those who don't care a lick about baseball remember him for his «Tonight Show with Johnny Carson» appearances, his ever-comic role as announcer Harry Doyle in the «Major League» movies, and a six-year stint on «Mr. Belvedere».
Baseball, however, was more than a home for Uecker. His loyalty to Milwaukee endured through more than five decades, earning him two statues outside the Brewers' home park.
In 2003, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, a well-deserved place among the most favorite characters in baseball and show business.
