Rapper 50 Cent is on a tour currently and had a stop in Boston the other night and while that's not unusual what he chose to wear while performing on stage may have had patrons of the concert do a double take or in fact, be downright ticked off.
50 chose to wear a Toronto Maple Leafs hat as part of his attire, likely with the understanding that the Boston Bruins and Maple Leafs have had a rivalry forever, but that has become more heated over the last handful of years.
50, real name Curtis James Jackson III has been quite the marketing genius during his career and this publicity stunt if you can call it that was the perfect way to get the attention that artists such as he wanted. Especially while travelling the world performing night after night in venues usually reserved for pro sports teams and the monotony it can have at times.
Another thing to note about his performance is that he had former president Donald J. Trumps' face superimposed on his Get Rich or Die Trying album cover that hung behind him. Again, quite the marketing ploy for a man who has sold millions of albums and is worth tens of millions of dollars.
