Talk about what must have been an incredibly awkward moment! One of the biggest moments of the 2024 NHL offseason was when the St. Louis Blues added Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway from the Edmonton Oilers by way of offer sheets In August. During a Q&A session with reporters, St. Louis Blues alternate captain Robert Thomas was asked about the successful offer sheets. He revealed that he was with Edmonton Oilers players when news of the offer sheets started coming through on their phones. Thomas called it awkward, and said the Oilers' players he was with weren't too happy with Blues GM Doug Armstrong.
Edmonton Oilers GM Stan Bowman threw some shade at the St. Louis Blues and his former players this week saying Doug Armstrong overpaid with the offer sheets. He also rejected any notion that it was the Oilers fault.
