The NHL awards the Ted Lindsay Award
The Ted Lindsay Award is an awarded annually to the National Hockey League's most outstanding player in the regular season as judged by the NHLPA. The award which was originally named the Lester B. Pearson award was changed to the Ted Lindsay Award in 2010.
This season the nominees for the Ted Lindsay Award were as follows:
Toronto Maple Leafs Auston Matthews led the league in goals with 69. He finished sixth amongst NHL leaders with 107 points in 81 games played.
Nathan MacKinnon skated in all 82 games for the Colorado Avalanche where he contributed 51 goals along with 89 assists for 140 points.
Nikita Kucherov led the entire National Hockey League in scoring with 144 points which included 44 goals and 100 assists for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
This year the award is presented to Nathan MacKinnon.
