The Anaheim Ducks and Trevor Zegras have appeared to be at odds for most of the National Hockey League season with his name coming up in trade rumours throughout the year. There's definitely been a lot of interest, but the Ducks asking price is probably quite high. That being said, an eastern conferenced suitor has emerged for Zegras.
The thought is the Rangers want to go all in on chasing the Stanley Cup given their position in the standings so, as we get closer to the trade deadline, insiders are trying to figure out what a marquee addition would look like for the club. Zegras has been in the rumour mill for quite a while and there could be a fit if they're willing to pay the acquisition price.
Zegras, 22, has missed a large chunk of the season due to multiple injuries including a broken ankle which he is currently still recovering from. I'm just 20 games this season, Zegras has a measly 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 total points.
Honestly, if the Rangers do want to trade for him alone or as part of a package, now might be the time to do it. If the Ducks truly want to get rid of him, the selling price is probably lower than ever with the amount of injuries he's suffered and the lack of production from the games he's been a part of this year.
