With the National Hockey League season right around the corner, teams are getting ready and at the same time, building the anticipation and sending fans into a frenzy as they wait for the puck to drop.
Earlier today, the Toronto Maple Leafs caused quite the commotion by updating their profile pictures on their social media platforms, except, omitting all the O's from the their slogan and taking the writing out of their logo.
The speculation from many fans is that by doing so, their profile picture turns into a clock showing the date before their season is set to begin, but that's all it is at the moment, speculation.
Others say it's a new third jersey announcement.
One thing is for sure, the anticipation of one of the NHL's biggest fan bases can hardly be contained over this, whatever it is.
As the season draws near, the anticipation will only continue to grow for an announcement of what this news turns out to be.
Personally, I think the cryptic logo is a nod to a new partnership of some kind, maybe a new brand deal or the Leafs could be reworking their existing logo or slogan as another fan suggested? We'll have to wait and see.
