The NHL is investigating a complaint about the behavior of some Ottawa Senators players during warmups for Game 3 of their first-round playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, a league source disclosed Friday morning.
Nick Cousins appears to fire pucks at Anthony Stolarz during warmups
Reports are that forward Nick Cousins fired pucks into the Leafs' end prior to Thursday night's game, seemingly at Toronto netminder Anthony Stolarz, and a new video has surfaced showing this alleged incident.
A few other Senators players allegedly joined in by firing pucks across centre ice afterward as well.
The series has not been without incident for Stolarz, who was annoyed by Senators forward Ridly Greig crashing into him late in Game 1. In Game 2, Stolarz retaliated with a series of slashes at Greig as he protected his crease.
Ottawa coach Travis Green called the Leafs' goalie a "fiery" competitor. While Stolarz didn't mention the warmup issues in his post-game remarks following Toronto's 3-2 overtime win in Game 3, he did say the Senators were trying to get inside his head.
"I just kind of stay out of it," he said. "I kind of talked to the refs a little bit there tonight and just said, 'Just watch my back and I'll behave.'"

The Senators now trail the series 3-0 and will host Game 4 Saturday evening at Canadian Tire Centre, where the Leafs have a chance at a sweep over their provincial rivals.
