Wayne Simmonds was by far of the best power forwards of the last 20 years. The strong, smooth skating forward added a physical element to his game and always held opponents accountable. Unfortunately for Simmonds injuries derailed the latter part of his career after he played his 1000th game.
Simmonds last game came April 8th 2023 as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Montreal Canadiens. Today however it was announced that he will sign one final NHL contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. With this contract, he also announces his official retirement from the NHL as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Simmonds finishes his career having played 1037 games, where he scored 263 goals and added 263 assists for 526 points. Over his 15 year career he played with Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Nashville, New Jersey, Buffalo and Toronto.
