Florida Panthers Fans hilariously mock Toronto Maple Leafs fans after Game 3

When the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Tampa Bay Lightning on April 29th a huge weight was lifted off the fan base, a nineteen year curse was finally lifted...or so we thought.

As the calendar turns to May 8th, that wins seems like a lifetime ago for Leaf fans. On Sunday night Florida Panthers beat the Maple Leafs 3-2 in OT to take a 3-0 stranglehold on the series.

Seconds after Sam Reinhart scored the overtime winner last night for the Panthers, fans at FLA Live Arena started chanting «We Want Florida!»





Hockey fans gathered at Maple Leaf Square were shown on TV during Round 1 saying the same thing, believing that once the wild-card Panthers eliminated the record-setting Boston Bruins that the path to the Stanley Cup would be easier for the Canadian squad.


Florida will have the brooms out on Wednesday as look to complete the sweep. Toronto could still battle back to force a Game 7, but for Leafs' fans the chances feel pretty bleak with the way the top players have been performing in this series and history not on their side. Only four times in NHL history has a team won a series after trailing 3-0, and it last happened in 2014.
