William Nylander's most recent embarrassing effort has Toronto Maple Leafs fans lost for answers
William Nylander is one of the most supremely talented players in the NHL. His skating, skills and overall offensive abilities puts him in the elite tier of players. Unfortunately the biggest limitation for Nylander is his own drive and motivation.
For his entire career Nylander has been one of the most frustrating players for his Head Coaches. Nylander has been benched on multiple occasions, but this season he seemed to finally figure things out. This season Nylander secured his first 40 goal season.
However, on March 15th things began to change for Nylander. The forward began to struggle and since has had Maple Leafs fans shaking their heads. Tonight Nylander went a step further and somehow has left Leafs fans wondering what Nylander is even doing anymore.
In the 2nd period Nylander makes an incredible rush into the Panthers zone before cutting back and sending the defender sprawling. Nylander was left with a wide open net lane to the net, but instead Nylander just peeled back towards the blueline.
If Nylander can't find his game this series it's going to put an incredible weight on Matthews and Marner to carry the team.
