Dylan Larkin breaks down in tears after his best friend is traded
The 2023 National Hockey League trade deadline has come and gone and although it was a relatively quiet day the Detroit Red Wings made a couple of moves that deleted what many view as some key players to their rebuild if you can call it that.
One such deal that General Manager Steve Yzerman decided to make in the best interest of the organization was to send pending unrestricted free agent Left Winger Tyler Bertuzzi to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a top ten protected 2024 first-round pick and a fourth-round pick in 2025.
When Red Wings Captain Dylan Larkin was asked about the move, he looked pensive and struggled to get through his thought. <>
Days like this and this situation specifically make us realize one very important thing that many of us forget. Although we view these individuals as professional athletes, they are human beings first and whether they express it or not having a guy you've gone to battle with hundreds of times and grown beside you over countless moments leave can be extremely difficult.
While showing emotion can be viewed as weak, kudos to Dylan Larkin for humanizing the events of the last number of days and how they can affect someone.
