Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks complete a trade
The NHL season is set to begin Tuesday night and by 5 pm Tuesday teams are required to be salary cap compliant. Today also marks the final day to place players on waivers to clear before the season begins.
Ahead of today's 2:00 p.m. waiver deadline the Toronto Maple Leafs in Vancouver Canucks have made a trade.
TRADE ALERT: #Canucks acquire Sam Lafferty from #MapleLeafs for a 2024 5th round pick.
Lafferty was acquired at last year's Trade Deadline but never found a spot in the Leafs lineup. This move will clear a roster spot for either Noah Gregor or Fraser Minten for the Leafs.
