A Big Trade Offer Has Been Named, and Rasmus Andersson Is Included
The NHL trade market isn't cooling down, and one young name has popped right back into the spotlight.
According to Jimmy Murphy of RG, both the Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Kraken have circled back with the Minnesota Wild regarding
Marco Rossi, the 22-year-old center who has been the subject of rumors for months.
Murphy even floated that
Jared McCann could be a centerpiece in a possible Kraken package.
That type of blockbuster would certainly make noise, but it also reopens an interesting question: what about the Dallas Stars?
Marco Rossi has been linked to the Dallas Stars in past Jason Robertson trade talk
This isn't the first time Rossi's name has been tied to the rumor mill.
Earlier this year, there was chatter that the Wild might dangle him in a potential framework with the Dallas Stars, especially when Jason Robertson's future in Dallas looked uncertain.
While nothing materialized, it proved that Stars GM Jim Nill has at least been in the orbit of conversations involving Rossi.
Murphy's latest report suggests the Wild are willing to listen again, which could give Dallas another chance to explore.
With Robertson now safe for the 2025-26 season, it might not take a superstar piece to make something happen, but Nill has been aggressive in the past when a young, high-upside player is available.
«Could Jared McCann be the centerpiece in a deal?» Murphy wrote, highlighting just how serious Seattle might be.
But fans in Dallas are left wondering if their team should try to jump back in.
As someone who's followed the Stars closely, I think it would be awesome to see Jim Nill get in on that action.
Rossi's upside down the middle could be exactly the type of long-term move that keeps Dallas competitive well beyond this season.
