Bruins place top forward on the trade block - Could the Stars make a move?
The Boston Bruins are shopping Pavel Zacha, and the Dallas Stars could emerge as a surprising fit if Jason Robertson is moved in a blockbuster trade.
The Boston Bruins are reportedly shopping Pavel Zacha, and while forward depth is not the most urgent need for the Dallas Stars, a player like him could make sense if the team were forced to part with Jason Robertson in a blockbuster deal, and I think this possibility might not be as far-fetched as it seems.
Insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period revealed that the Bruins are not just listening but actively trying to move Zacha. He explained:
«The Bruins explored the trade market on Zacha during the season and there is belief out there that Boston is looking, again, at moving him.»
Zacha, 28, brings size and balance as a 6-foot-3, 206-pound left-handed center. He's coming off back-to-back productive seasons with 47 and 59 points, all while carrying a manageable $4.75 million cap hit through 2027.
He might not be a pure goal scorer, but his two-way game and ability to play multiple roles could make him a valuable piece for a Dallas roster reshaping after any potential Robertson move, as discussed in cap projections by
TSN.
Would the Dallas Stars view Pavel Zacha as a stabilizing addition if Jason Robertson is moved?
For Dallas, acquiring Zacha would not solve every need, but his versatility could make him the type of reliable piece they need while adjusting their cap structure.
I personally think his style fits the Stars' system, even if it's not their top priority right now.
With Boston motivated to make a move, the door is clearly open.
If Dallas chooses to shake up its core, Zacha could be a smart addition to keep them competitive in 2025-26.
