The National Hockey League's 2024 Entry Draft is set to get underway in just over a month and it appears that we have our first pretty significant trade, involving first round picks as well.

In a post on social media, the New York Islanders announced that they've acquired the 20th, 54th and 61st overall picks from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for the 18th and 50th overall picks.
"TRADE

2024 2nd RD pick (#54 - LAK)
2024 2nd RD pick (#61 - VAN)"

"#Isles News: The New York Islanders have acquired a first-round pick (#20) and two second-round picks (#54 and #61) in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks, in exchange for the team's first-round pick (#18) and second-round pick (#50)."

These picks could eventually have significant impacts on the future of the both the Blackhawks and Islanders' organizations in the coming years and it'll be interesting to see who won this trade down the road.
