St. Louis now has to rally his current roster and find internal solutions immediately. The glaring lack of a major move puts immense, undeniable pressure on the remaining defensemen.

The Eastern Conference arms race is incredibly unforgiving right now. Standing pat while rivals loaded up was absolutely not the original front office plan.

General manager Kent Hughes will inevitably have to revisit these trade targets this summer. For now, the locker room must simply push forward with the exact pieces they already have.
