New promotional ad has fans thinking Patrice Bergeron will be returning to Boston

Over the weekend, Boston Bruins fans went crazy after seeing an image of Brad Marchand in a new promotional advertisement for Warrior Hockey, with many thinking Patrice Bergeron will be returning.

The reason why Bruins fans think Bergeron will be back with Boston next season is because in the Warrior Hockey advertisement, Brad Marchand is seen wearing a uniform with an alternate captain's 'A'.

Fans assume that this means Bergeron will be back with the organization for the 2023-24 season, but it's probably a bit of a reach at this point for a number of reasons and here's why.

For starters, Patrice Bergeron is still undecided on his playing future according to several sources and it's likely he won't re-sign with the Bruins or even announce a potential retirement until August or even September.


Another reason why fans should pump the breaks on thinking Bergeron might be back is because of the jersey Marchand is wearing. The Boston Bruins are entering their 100th anniversary season and last month, announced that they will be wearing new home and away uniforms for the 2023-24 season only. That means that the uniform Marchand is wearing in the in image below won't be worn next season by the Bruins and won't be worn again until the 2024-25 season.
