Boston Bruins fans lose a bet, go without calzone for three months

For as long as anyone can remember the Boston Bruins have owned the Toronto Maple Leafs in-game sevens. While some people bleed blue and white and just hope the Maple Leafs end up beating the Bruins in a seven-game series, some make ridiculous wagers and post it on social media for the world to see.

It appears a Bruins fan did just that when he felt the Bruins' backs were against the wall during Boston's first-round series against Toronto during this past season's NHL playoffs.

@rob_thibeault posted on his X, formerly known as Twitter account. Rob proclaimed he would be willing to give up calzones for three months if the Boston Bruins win game 7 against the Maple Leafs. Everyone knows how that turned out, especially Rob who went without Calzones from early May until early August 2024.

What possesses people to make ridiculous wagers is beyond incomprehensible to many. Did he believe that the Bruins were that far down and out during their series that it was a lock for him to win? Quite possibly. Or was it an opportunity for him to limit his calzone intake because it's his kryptonite? Who knows.

What is certain is Rob is back enjoying the calzones he so foolishly decided he could give up through a ridiculous bet, but it proved one thing. Never bet for or against your favourite team unless it's a sure thing. It's bound to backfire spectacularly.
