Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark had a tough night on Tuesday night, he came out on the losing end of a 3-2 point overtime loss, and because of his actions during the game he will be a little lighter in the wallet thanks to the NHL Department of Player Safety.
Ullmark has been fined $5,000, the maximum amount allowable under the CBA, for high-sticking Tampa bay Lightning forward Michael Eyssimont.
A play occurred during the third period of the game on Tuesday. Lightning forward Michael Eyssimont was skating towards the Boston crease when he inadvertently made contact with Bruins goalie Ullmark. This annoyed the Swedish native who gave have Eyssimont a high-stick in return. There was no penalty assessed on the play.
The 25 year old, is having another stellar season with the Bruins, sharing the net with fellow goalie and good friend Jeremy Swayman. Both goalies have 16 wins on the season for Boston.
