The 13 day dedication period to Johnny Gaudreau in Calgary has come to an end on Monday morning and in a post on their website, the Flames announced plans for items placed at Scotiabank Saddledome by their fans.
For the signs, messages and memories written in chalk in front of the stairs at the Saddledome, the Flames have taken photographs that they will give to the Gaudreau family as a digital memory book of how much Johnny was loved in Calgary.
Plenty of fans decided to place sticks at the memorial and those are going to be repurposed and made into benches with fundraising efforts going to local charities in Calgary. The Flames say that each of these benches will have a plaque on them in memory of the Gaudreau brothers.
Another item that was left by fans at the memorial was jerseys, some of which had Gaudreau and his number 13 on the back. The Flames announced that those uniforms will be laundered and made into blankets that'll be donated to local charities.
Stuffed toys that were made of cotton and cloth will be donated to a charity that is supported by current Flames players Mikael Backlund and Mackenzie Weegar called Parachutes for Pets.
The hockey world continues to mourn the passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau and the thoughts of everyone here at Blade of Steel continues to be with the Gaudreau family at this difficult time.
Calgary's plans for other items including Skittles and purple Gatorade, can be viewed through the link below.
