Jesperi Kotkaniemi Loses his Cool in the Tunnel after Canes lose another to Florida
The Carolina Hurricanes have an almost insurmountable task to complete if they want to make it to the Stanley Cup Final. After last night's 1-0 loss to the Florida Panthers, the Canes are now down 3-0 in their third round series, and will need nothing short of a miracle to complete a comeback.
Following the game, the camera was watching Carolina go down the tunnel to the dressing room. Jesperi Kotkaniemi exploded in a fit of anger, breaking his stick across the wall with at least three big swings. Teammate Jack Drury, who was directly behind him, could only cover his face and hope not to get hit.
It's tough to blame Kotkaniemi for being frustrated, and the frustration likely stems from his own performance as much as the team's. The 22-year-old had just 10:25 of ice-time last night in the loss. He has no points in this series and just five shots.
