The Carolina Hurricanes were hoping to get over the hump this year and make it to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006. However, the New York Rangers had other plans, eliminating the Hurricanes in six games in the second round.
In an interview with Czech media outlet Denik Sport, Martin Necas' dad said that his son would like to be traded by the Carolina Hurricanes and wants to be on a team that will have him on the top line, as well as the first powerplay unit.
There certainly won't be a shortage of suitors for Martin Necas this summer. He's only 25-years-old, is coming off back-to-back 20+ goal campaigns and is getting better each season. He would fit in well with a younger team, such as the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings or Montreal Canadiens, just to name a few, who are looking to take the next step and compete for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
