The Colorado Avalanche are going to be an interesting team to watch leading up to the trade deadline on March 8th. There's no doubt the Avalanche are contenders for the Stanley Cup, but it's unclear what they may target.
A top-six forward may be the most logical option for the Colorado Avalanche to seek before 3 p.m. ET next Friday, but according to Adrian Dater, the team may have their eyes on bringing back a former player.
Kerfoot, who was originally drafted by New Jersey in 2012, decided not to sign with the Devils and after his final year with Harvard in 2017, signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Avalanche. In his two years with Colorado, Kerfoot had 85 points (34 goals, 51 assists) in 157 games.
Last summer, Kerfoot became an unrestricted free agent and signed a deal with the Arizona Coyotes for the 2023-24 season. In 61 games, the Vancouver native has 35 points (ten goals, 25 assists), 18 penalty minutes and is a minus-11.
