28-year-old Blue Jackets forward lands on Saturday's waiver wire
Ahead of their second game of the 2023-24 season on Saturday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets have placed on of their forwards on the waiver wire.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, 28-year-old forward Eric Robinson has been placed on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters.
"Placed on NHL waivers today: Eric Robinson (CBJ)." Johnston said in a post on X.
Robinson, a native of Bellmawr, New Jersey, was signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent out of Princeton University in the spring of 2018. He's gone on to appear in 260 games for them since joining the club and last season, had 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists), six penalty minutes and was a minus-21 in 72 contests.
In other waivers related news, Edmonton Oilers defenceman Markus Niemelainen has cleared and will be assigned to the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors.
