It's been a busy week for teams using waivers and on Thursday, that trend continued.

According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Columbus Blue Jackets have placed goaltender Spencer Martin on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League.

"Placed on NHL waivers today: Spencer Martin (CBJ)."

Martin, 28, was claimed off waivers before the 2023-24 season began by Columbus from the Vancouver Canucks after they added a veteran presence for their backup role.

The Oakville, Ontario native has appeared in 13 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets where he has a record of 3-8-1 with a 3.65 goals against average and an .887 save percentage.

In other related news, Johnston added that Flames forward Walker Duehr has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the AHL's Calgary Wranglers.

"Walker Duehr (CGY) clears waivers."

In 19 games for the Flames this season, Duehr has four points (one goal, three assists), two penalty minutes and is a minus-two.
