Well, this is something either no one saw coming, or everyone did. After allegations surfaced this morning involving Columbus head coach Mike Babcock, the Blue Jackets say they are looking into the situation to determine exactly what happened.
According to Paul Bisonnette of Spittin' Chiclets, a player from the Blue Jackets texted him to tell him Babcock was asking to see players' phones, and then AirPlaying their photos to a TV located in his office.
According to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, the Blue Jackets are aware of the allegations and are looking into them. He asked both Babcock and Jenner for comment, but neither would respond.
Babcock just got back into the NHL after being out since 2019 when he was fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs. At that time, several stories of alleged mistreatment of players from throughout Babcock's career became public. He has since said he's changed, adding he knows he made mistakes. It would be a huge shock is Babcock was reprimanded, or possibly even fired, before ever coaching a game in Columbus.
