Earlier this season the Ottawa Senators parted ways with Pierre Dorion as the team's General Manager. At the time it was reported that Dorion has resigned after the Senators were fined a 1st round draft pick for his failures to reveal that Evgeni Dadonov, had filed proper paperwork for his no trade list. Now fast forward to February and another NHL team has parted ways with their GM.

According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, the Columbus Blue Jackets have relieved Jarmo Kekalainen.

The #CBJ have fired general manager Jarmo Kekalainen.

John Davidson takes over as #CBJ interim general manager while the club searches for a replacement.

Jarmo had been under fire since his hiring of Mike Babcock had gone south and left the team with a black eye after the coach reportedly forced rookies on the team to show him their phones and it's content. That situation combined with a lack of success has led the Blue Jackets to where they are and Jarmo to the unemployment line.

The Blue Jackets have confirmed this:

Jarmo Kekalainen has been relieved of his duties as general manager.

John Davidson, along with the team's hockey operations management team, will assume general manager's duties while the club goes through the process of hiring a replacement.
