The Dallas Stars have a chance to put away their rival Colorado Avalanche in six games, but unfortunately, they won't get two top stars back for that game.
Despite missing two of their biggest stars, the Dallas Stars hold a tight 3-2 lead against the Colorado Avalanche in their first-round series, with a critical Game 6 on the way on Thursday night in Colorado.
Unfortunately for Dallas, it has been confirmed that star defenseman
Miro Heiskanen, who has been out since January will not return for this game, with their blue line still missing their most important piece.
On top of that, Head Coach Peter DeBoer confirmed that
Jason Robertson will not be making his return to the lineup, but in positive news, his status has gone from week-to-week to day-to-day, confirming that he's closing in on a potential return after being injured in Game 82 for the Stars in the regular season.
While this remains a major blow for the Stars, they've managed to not only stay alive in this series, but they've picked up some crucial wins over the Avalanche, and if they can survive this series and get both players healthy, it spells trouble for the rest of the Western Conference.
However, if the Avalanche can win Game 6, then all eyes will turn to a winner-take-all matchup in Game 7 in Dallas, and while neither appear ready to get back on the ice, if their presence could help the Stars in any way in that battle, don't be shocked to see both push for a return as the Stars look to finally fulfill their potential and go on a deep Stanley Cup run.
