The Edmonton Oilers need a change in net, and while they haven't made that change, they have switched up the goaltending coach after a recent announcement.

While the Edmonton Oilers made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second straight season, they fell to the Florida Panthers again, with many factors going into another heartbreaking end to their season.
One issue they had however was their goaltending situation, and while many people around the team were expecting a change in net, as of right now, it appears as though the team may run it back with Stuart Skinner as their starter.
They have made one change though, as it has been reported that goaltending coach Dustin Schwartz will not be returning in 2025/26, with the team looking to get a different view into a room that was so up-and-down throughout the post-season specifically.
Schwartz has worked in Edmonton with both the Oilers and the Oil Kings as a goaltending coach/consultant for well over a decade now, and in that time, the Oilers have struggled to find a dominant net minder, and with a new voice in the GM chair over the last 12 months, the front office believed it was time for a change.
There's still time for the Oilers to make a change if that's the way they want to go, as there have been rumours that the team could shop Stuart Skinner for a big upgrade in net.
But right now, it appears as though this change may be all Oilers fans get, with the team likely to run it back with Skinner in hopes they can finally overcome the Panthers or whoever they meet if they make the Stanley Cup Finals.
