McDavid's Injury: Leaked Video Shows Cheap Shot from Team Canada Teammate

Connor McDavid's status is up in the air for the remainder of the regular season, and it was a shot from his Team Canada teammate that has taken him out.
On the video, it's clear to see McDavid grab No. 44's stick, and as a result, he gives a light cross-check to the ribs, forcing the Oilers captain to miss the third period of the game and now at least one or two more.
Sure, this wasn't the best move to make from Morrissey, as it was an unnecessary shot, but this doesn't seem to be quite as bad as the injury would make it sound, but regardless, it's something that shouldn't have happened.
One thing that is interesting to note is that Sportsnet upon hearing McDavid was out noted that it was a lower-body injury keeping Connor out of the game, meaning that it was likely something as a result of this cross check, rather than the cross check itself that took him out.
Either way, this was an unnecessary shot from Morrissey and one that could cost the NHL of their biggest star at the most important time of year, but as of this point, we've not got official confirmation on the status of McDavid moving forward, and we are expecting to hear that from Kris Knoblauch in the coming days.
