Although it wasn't pretty, the Edmonton Oilers are through to round two, and ahead of their matchup with Vegas, their captain has promised a good series in what should be one of the most exciting battles in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year.
The Edmonton Oilers have defeated the Los Angeles Kings for the fourth straight time in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and now, they're gearing up for a much tougher matchup in the Pacific Division Champion Vegas Golden Knights, who they have met just once in the post-season before.
It's set to be one of the most exciting matchup in an already fantastic post-season for the NHL, and now, Oilers captain Connor McDavid has thrown some fire on the rivalry before a highly anticipated Game 1.
"We owe Vegas a good series. We don't forget what happened two years ago."

In four meetings during the regular season, the record between these teams was 2-2, and as McDavid mentioned, they met two years ago, with the Golden Knights winning that series 4-2 as they would eventually go on to win their first ever Stanley Cup that season.
Now, the Oilers are out for revenge, and while their goaltending wasn't at its best against the Kings, they've shown great resiliency and clutch play offensively, and if they can keep that up, this series could go either way.
Ultimately, it's anyone's guess who comes out on top in this one, with both teams full of superstars all over the ice, and with McDavid and co. clearly motivated to go one step further than their 2024 Stanley Cup Finals run, it's safe to say that we're in for an incredibly fun and competitive matchup.
