Viktor Arvidsson got away with a blatant, dirty trip on Brayden McNabb in Game 2, and now his suspension fate has been revealed by the Department of Player Safety.

The Edmonton Oilers escaped Vegas with a win in Game 2, and now, as the series shifts to home ice in Edmonton, they hold a commanding 2-0 lead in this Western Conference Semi-Finals matchup.
However, the game wasn't without controversy, as the officials missed a blatant trip late in overtime on Edmonton's Viktor Arvidsson that would have put the Golden Knights on the power play, and instead, it was the magic of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl that led to an overtime winner.
Now, Frank Seravalli has revealed the decision made by the Department of Player Safety on Arvidsson after what was a blatant and very dirty trip that saw McNabb go crashing into the boards.
Seravalli notes that the DoPS will not be getting involved with this situation, as Arvidsson will avoid any punishment for his role in the play, as players usually do not get fined or suspended from a trip, no matter how blatant or dirty.
This frees up Arvidsson to play in Game 3 and beyond as the Oilers look to continue their dominance as they seek a 3-0 lead when the teams do battle again on Saturday night, and while the officials will be looking to be on their best game, don't expect them to try and even the score for Vegas.
Ultimately, we've not seen a fine or a suspension for a trip, especially in the Stanley Cup Playoffs where things get more intense and physical, and in the end, no punishment for Arvidsson here is certainly the right call.
