Brad Marchand is now a Florida Panther, and while he's teaming up with Team Canada teammate Sam Bennett, he still had a sly dig at his former rival ahead of the two potentially making one of the best lines in hockey alongside Matthew Tkachuk for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Landing in Florida, Marchand will now be playing for one of his biggest former rivals, and that includes many players on the team, namely Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk, who he is likely to share a line with.
The hatchet between Marchand and Bennett was reportedly buried at the Four Nations Face Off, but now No. 63 couldn't resist taking a shot at his brand new linemate.
In his first interview, Marchand was full of the personality and humour that made him a fan and teammate favourite in Boston, although opponents of the Panthers likely aren't looking forward to playing against a line of Bennett and Marchand, with Tkachuk expected back for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It's unclear when Marchand will make his Panthers debut, as he's been missing for a few weeks with an existing injury, but he's expected to return well before the post-season so he can begin gelling with his new teammates.
While there's still many people that won't like Marchand, it's hard to deny that he's one of the NHL's biggest characters, and now that he's alongside one of the most loaded lineups in the league, the expectations are high for this team to go back-to-back in 2025.
