Brad Marchand is often hated by opposing teams and fans, but his latest act shows just what a great character the Florida Panthers veteran is.

The Florida Panthers are one win away from clinching back-to-back Stanley Cup wins, and although he wasn't around for the 2024 victory, Brad Marchand has played a key role in the post-season for Florida in 2025.
The 37-year old veteran has tallied six goals in the Stanley Cup Finals thus far, putting him on pace to win the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2025, and although he once was one of the most hated players in the NHL, he's won plenty of fans over since arriving in Florida.
That comes from being an immense character both on and off the ice, and a recent story shared on social media by a Florida native showed just what a great person he is away from the ice.
According to a fan who is friends with Marchand's neighbour, the Panthers veteran left without closing his garage door, to which the friend, being a good neighbour responded by simply closing it for him and not making a big fuss about it.
As a great guy however, Marchand rewarded him with tickets to Game 6, a potential opportunity for the fan to see Marchand and the Panthers clinch an iconic Stanley Cup victory on home ice, and while this isn't something he needed to do, Marchand went out of his way to do a nice deed for someone that helped him.
Sure, this story likely isn't going to change the mind of those that hate Marchand, as he's done plenty over his career to warrant that hatred, but given the personality he's shown in recent times, it's safe to say that this is another move to show that he may not be what his reputation in the NHL truly says he is.
