Panthers forward Brad Marchand, who is now 6-0 in Game 7 against the Maple Leafs in his career, wasted no time in rubbing salt in the wound of Leafs fans everywhere.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are once again left picking up the pieces after an inexplicable against loss in Game 7 the divisional foe Florida Panthers, ending their year and falling well short of the expectations they set for themselves after winning the Atlantic Division.
The Panthers dismantled the Leafs, winning 6-1 and returning to the Eastern Conference Final for the 3rd straight year. Meanwhile, Toronto's vaunted "Core 4" of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and John Tavares is likely to be broken up.
Brad Marchand, who has been a thorn in the side of the Maple Leafs for his entire career, had 3 points (1G, 2A) in the win, including an empty-net goal in the 3rd period to seal the win.

Marchand also said that he grew up as a Maple Leafs fan and that he welcomes the hatred that Toronto fans show toward him.
