Brad Marchand's Wife Drops Surprising Hint About What's Next for Their Family
The Florida Panthers acquired former Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand in a stunning March trade, and now a major hint on his playing future has been dropped.
In one of the more surprising trades in recent NHL memory, the Boston Bruins traded longtime franchise mainstay and captain Brad Marchand to the divisional foe Florida Panthers at the Trade Deadline in March.
It was especially ironic considering that the Panthers had knocked the Bruins out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in both 2023 and 2024.
While the Bruins missed the postseason, Marchand and the Panthers have already beaten the Tampa Bay Lightning in Round 1 and are now preparing to face the Toronto Maple Leafs in Round 2; last year, Marchand helped the Bruins beat the Maple Leafs in a hard-fought 7-game series.
Before being traded to the Panthers, Marchand was in his 2nd year as Bruins captain after succeeding Patrice Bergeron; he had 47 points (21G, 26A) in 61 games.
He was the longest-tenured player on the Bruins at the time, and still ranks 4th in team history in games (1,090) and goals (422), 5th overall in points (976) and 6th overall in assists (554).
He's in the final season of an 8-year, $49 million deal he signed in 2016 with an AAV (average annual value) of $6,125,000.
